Mudek (Accreditation for Educational Studies)

 

Undergraduate (BSc) program of Dokuz Eylül University Textile Engineering Department has been accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK) for the first time in 2009.

Snce then, for the continuity of accreditation validity, the audits have been performed routinely in terms of engineering education activities.

As a result of the last audit of the department, The accreditation for Educational Studies has been approved by the national association and the accreditation was extended  till September 2025 (validation period for 2022-2025).

The department was also awarded EURopean ACcredited Engineer (EUR-ACE) Label to be valid during the accreditation period.

   
What is MÜDEK?

Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK), is a non-governmental organization operating for the purpose of contributing to the enhancement of quality of engineering education in Turkey by means of the accreditation and evaluation of and providing information services for engineering education programs in different disciplines.

MÜDEK was initially established with a name Engineering Evaluation Board as an independent, non-governmental platform in 2002 by the Engineering Deans Council (MDK), which is formed by the deans of faculties administering engineering education programs in Turkey and TRNC, in order to prepare and conduct a comprehensive program for the evaluation of engineering undergraduate programs run by these faculties.  and became a member of ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) in 2006.

The application of MÜDEK made on October 31, 2007 to Higher Education Council (YÖK) was accepted by the General Assembly of YÖK on November 16, 2007; and according to the article 7/e of the related regulation, it was decided to recognize MÜDEK as the national quality assurance agency specializing on the national, sectoral, and program specific competency of engineering programs at higher education institutions and to issue Quality Evaluation Certificate to MÜDEK valid for a period of five years.

Except MÜDEK administrative staff, those participate in MÜDEK boards, committees, working groups, and accreditation evaluation teams work on voluntary basis without any pay.
