Textile industry, one of the leading industries due its contribution to employment and economy of the country, has become the most developed and modern instruy branch with technological renovations, technical and experience build-up. In most of the developed countiries Turkish textile products are being consumed in high amounts.

Textile engineer decides on the most appropriate raw material based on the cosumer expectations from yarns, fabrics, and garments. Textile engineer determines, controls, analyzez and improves the working conditions and prameters of the machinery used to process the raw material for the sake of production efficiency and quality. Textile Engineer performs the technical design of innovative and fashionable textile products.

Graduates of our department can work in Textile and Clothing companies as textile engineers. Yarn, weaving, knitting, finishing and clothing companies; merchandisers on textile accessories, materials and machinery; importers/exporters; laboratories employ textile engineers. Most common cities that a textile engineer is employed can be indicated as Istanbul, Bursa, Denizli, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş and Adana.

Textile engineers are expected to fulfill production planning, organization and management in textile companies; designing of textile products; Project designing of textile facilities; evalating performances of textiles during usage; educational activities in textile companies. Textile engineers are to be in close contact with textile merchandisers, local authorities and public instittions, manufcaturers of raw materials and spare parts.

Even though the textile enginers start with a midlevel wage, the salary improves with the experience gained leading to being executives in the companies.
