Double Major Program

Double major programs aim at graduating interdisciplinary experts who can cope with problems in various areas of science and engineering. So the students, who are already performing successfully in the department, have the opportunity to have a different major degree in addition to major in Textile Engineering. Within the program, such students fulfilling the general requirements will be selected to follow a comprehensive program in the departments of Textile Engineering and Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering or Geophysical Engineering. The curriculum to be followed will be determined in student basis by the department.

The announcements related with the double major program are done in the first week of September every year by Faculty of Engineering. In the case when the number of the applicants is more than the quota of the department, the students are listed according to their grade averages and the qualifying students are determined. The students enrolled in the program are subjected to the Directive of Double Major Program of Dokuz Eylul University. Selection of the courses, arrangement of the course programs and tracking the success of the students are performed by the double Major Program Coordinator of the department.

Since the academic year 2005-2006, when the program was initiated, nine students of Textile Engineering Department have completed the program in Industrial Engineering Department, and are also Industrial Engineers as the second major.

Minor Program

The aim of minor program is to give basic information to students in other fields of engineering and science, who are interested in another major area outside Textile Engineering. The students, who finish the program successfully, are given a certificate of minor program. The students of the department have the opportunity of minor programs with the Departments of Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geophysical Engineering.

The program was initiated in the academic year 2007 – 2008. The announcements related with the minor program are done in the first week of September every year by Faculty of Engineering. The students enrolled to the program are subjected to the Directive of Minor Program of Dokuz Eylül University.
